Pricing & Quotes
How do you calculate my price?
Distance, route demand, vehicle size/weight, open vs. enclosed, season, and operability. For an exact figure, submit the Get a Free Quote form and we’ll confirm your lane.
Can I lock the price before pickup?
Yes—once you approve the dispatch, your carrier and rate are locked. If anything changes, we’ll notify you before you confirm.
Do quotes expire?
Routes fluctuate with market demand. If a quote is a few days old, we’ll re-check the lane and honor it when possible—just reply to your quote email.
Shipping & Timing
How long does transport take?
Many regional moves arrive in 1–4 days; cross-country is typically 5–10 days. We’ll share a pickup window when we assign your carrier.
How soon can you pick up?
Often within 1–3 days on popular lanes. Submit the form with your earliest date and we’ll prioritize the soonest matching carrier.
Can I choose exact dates?
We work with windows (e.g., 1–2 days). If you have fixed dates, tell us in the notes—we’ll do our best and confirm availability before you book.
Coverage & Insurance
Is my vehicle insured during transport?
Yes. All carriers are licensed & insured. You’ll receive coverage details with your dispatch confirmation.
What’s typically covered?
Carrier liability covers damage caused during transport. Pre-existing issues, underbody wear, and personal items aren’t covered.
How do claims work?
Note any issue on the Bill of Lading at delivery, take photos, and contact us. We’ll assist with the carrier’s claim process right away.
Pickup & Delivery
Is it door-to-door?
Yes—access permitting. If a large truck can’t reach your street, we’ll meet at a nearby safe spot (e.g., wide lot or corner).
Do I need to be there?
You or an authorized adult should be present to sign the Bill of Lading and complete the inspection at pickup and delivery.
What should I do before pickup?
Remove toll tags/loose items, keep about ¼ tank of fuel, and photograph your vehicle’s condition.
Special Cases
Can you ship an inoperable vehicle?
Yes—winch-equipped carriers handle non-running cars. Tell us if brakes or steering don’t work so we assign the right equipment.
Do you ship to/from Hawaii?
Yes—port coordination plus mainland trucking. Ocean carriers have specific rules; we’ll outline steps and coverage with your quote.
Do you pick up from auctions (Copart, IAAI, Manheim)?
Yes—we coordinate releases, provide proof of pickup, and keep you updated through delivery.
Tracking & Communication
Can I track my shipment?
You’ll receive status updates from your advisor and can request an ETA anytime. We share driver updates during the run.
Who do I contact during transport?
You’ll have your SpeedyWay advisor’s contact plus the driver’s info once assigned.
Will I get reminders?
Yes—pickup and delivery reminders by text/email, including any timing changes.
Policies
What if plans change?
We can reschedule; just let us know as early as possible. Cancellation windows are outlined in your dispatch.
Can I put personal items in the car?
Up to ~100 lbs in the trunk is typically allowed at driver discretion. Heavy loads may affect pricing and acceptance—ask your advisor.
What happens if there’s damage?
Document it at delivery, note it on the Bill of Lading, and contact us immediately. We’ll help initiate the carrier’s claim.
